Huntsman Reports Q4 2025 MDI Production Outage and Announces €350/MT Price Increase Across EMEA

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — December 2025 — Huntsman Corporation has issued two significant updates impacting the global polyurethanes and MDI markets, including an unplanned production outage in the Netherlands and a broad price increase across the EMEA region.

MDI Production Outage Impacts Huntsman’s Q4 2025 Outlook

Huntsman confirmed an unexpected outage at its Polyurethanes facility in Rotterdam, Netherlands, affecting the larger of its two MDI production lines. The disruption is expected to negatively impact fourth-quarter 2025 adjusted EBITDA by approximately $10 million.

The affected MDI line is anticipated to return to operation by mid-December 2025. As a result, Huntsman now expects Q4 2025 adjusted EBITDA to land at the lower end of the previously communicated $25–$50 million range issued on November 6, 2025.

Excluding this outage, Huntsman reports that the quarter’s performance is progressing as originally forecasted. The event underscores ongoing supply constraints in the global MDI and polyurethane markets, contributing to tighter availability in Europe and surrounding regions.

€350/MT MDI Price Increase Announced for EMEA

In a separate announcement on December 2, 2025, Huntsman declared an immediate €350 per metric ton price increase on all MDI products across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East (EMEA), subject to individual contract terms.

According to Huntsman, the price adjustment is driven by sustained cost pressures related to raw materials, energy, and logistics, all of which continue to influence the regional polyurethanes supply chain.

The company stated that this increase is necessary to ensure a stable and reliable supply of high-quality MDI products to customers across the EMEA region.

Market Impact and Industry Outlook

The combination of a temporary MDI production outage and a broad price increase is expected to influence the polyurethanes and MDI markets in the short term. Tightened supply conditions combined with rising manufacturing and operational costs may lead to firmer pricing trends throughout Q4 2025 and early 2026.

Market participants, including foam manufacturers, insulation producers, and CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers) customers, are advised to monitor Huntsman’s operational updates closely as EMEA MDI supply and pricing dynamics continue to evolve.
